| The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible to coordinate the activities of the Purchasing, Planning, Receiving, Shipping and Warehousing departments. This includes management of the supply chain team through evaluation, coaching and motivation of staff. Will develop key performance indicators for the Supply Chain group in order to achieve organizational goals as well as work with Sales and Manufacturing to ensure that optimum levels of inventory are maintained, balancing the need to maximize inventory turns with the need to maintain minimum stock levels. As well as work with Accounting and Manufacturing to ensure the necessary systems are in place that allow for inventory integrity from receipt of goods, internal processing and through to finished goods. Assess the quality, cost and efficiency of freight/logistics systems, including customs and duty. Will play a leadership role in process improvement initiatives as they relate to material flow, inventory reduction and overall customer satisfaction. Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required in this role. A degree/diploma in Materials Management or a related field combined with APICS certification is preferred. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of management experience responsible for the purchasing, logistics and planning functions, as well as excellent computer and automated scheduling systems skills (ERP/MRP). |

| The successful candidate will handle all aspects of negotiating for and securing supply of, raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and other materials required for the operation of the business. This includes but is not limited to board, corrugate, packaging supplies, etc. Will be responsible for ensuring that all materials purchased meet the specifications and quality requirements, as well as that all raw materials, packaging materials and other consumables are available when the job is scheduled to be run. Will manage the inventory of raw materials in such a way that company's inventory carrying costs and space requirements are minimized and consignment and/or supplier inventoried materials is the norm. This includes managing obsolete, excess, and aged inventory effectively. Ensuring that the net cost of all raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and other materials is minimized, including the impact of purchase price, discounts, carrying costs, and performance impact ( e.g. good price but runs slower- negative cost impact ).

You should have 10-15 years of professional purchasing experience ideally some of it gained within a custom equipment manufacturing environment and where you have been exposed to MRP / ERP systems. You will have a demonstrated ability to obtain best price and delivery, while maintaining high quality standards and developing positive vendor relationships. Preference will be given to candidates who have or are close to the CPP designation. Previous supervisory exposure would be an asset, since this person should be ready to provide coverage for the Materials Manager and to act as a mentor for other purchasing staff. |
